Southlands appoints Children and Families Worker

SOUTHLANDS has now appointed a paid part-time Children and Families Worker.

Money has been ring-fenced to meet the costs of the three-year appointment, expected to work out at around £50,000.

It is an exciting new post focusing on a key area of the life of the church and local community to explore fresh initiatives and build on existing provision through engagement with organisations, families and children both inside and outside the fellowship of the church.

There were seven application for the position and we eventually ended up with a shortlist of three, with interviews taking place on 7th and 14th November, 2011.

The successful candidate has been offered the job and we are now awaiting completion of various formalities before we give out any further information, but it is hoped that our new worker will take up his duties at the beginning of 2012.
