2009 Shoebox AppealPictures connected with the church's appeal on behalf of the Shepherd's Purse effort to get Christmas gifts to people living in poverty in different parts of the world.Children's groups and members and friends of the church filled a total of 88 boxes with presents - more than ever before. The campaign was launched with a children's fun afternoon at Southlands during the half-term break, and the shoeboxes were blessed at morning worship a few weeks later before the congregation carried them out to a car in the church car park. The shoeboxes were shipped out with thousands from all across Britain to take Christmas cheer to children in poor families in other parts of the world. There are 7 photos for this gallery. |
